You know, for once its not my fault.

Im not apathetic this time, or swamped by uni work through a lack of time management skillz, this time its a new foe. One I was once great friends with. One I once called comrade, and we rode through the confusing battlegrounds of digitalisation and made sure the sketches got to the Shop of Photos on time for colour hour.
But this friend failed me in my greatest hour of triumph, when the train of art had just begun to travel into a new age of creativity.
And now we are enemies.

My nemesis, the Canon MP150 scanner.

When i approached him with art work in the past, he always claimed that "no page is too unclear! too blurry! too sketchy! we shall spirit it away on the backs of USB fairies and it shall be made anew in the Shop of Photos".
And for a time it was good.
And then i discovered its much easier to draw finshed detailed works on larger art boards than simple sketch books.
And he didnt agree claiming "its simply too big. you cant scan that, even if you break it into two lots and fix it up in the 'Shop, theres still a strip missing down the centre!"
I was shocked, to say the least. My friend, his commitment, his gusto, his honor... gone.

...

And i knew it was time to move on.
I paid my dues at the Shop of Photos and dusted off my travelling hat and put up the ever faithful "back in 10 minutes" sign. And headed of into the world of the computer peripheral.

So now I am off on a search for a greater knight in this dark hour. To borrow, or even to purchase if i have to. There are two reference sheets to upload and some comic pages!
So the moral of this story? Bare with me. Im still here, just... haitus due to physically stupid add-ons.

While im off searching, check these out,

Tell me what you think. I love the way they look and it feels like my style. you know?
I sort of have backgrounds and buildings and stuff down pat, just not anatomy so much. hopefully this is a step in the right direction.

That's very well written. Very funny and smart. I like it.

I use an Epson Stylus CX5500. Tis a scanner/printer/copier, and is very good. Does A4.

Hey thanks! Its a bit of a creative rant. Being annoyed at technology and all. :D

Hhmmm. Im looking for just shy of A3 size, but i think i'll just have to bite the bullet and shop the pages together... Damn workingon large boards.

I aim to please. :D

If someone can take pleasue in my downfall, then my work is done.

Are you sure you wrote that? It is almost like reading something I wrote myself.
Granted, some parts I did not understand, but I reckon they were not crucial for me to get the overall picture.

Well, good luck with the university, scanning and the markets.

I have some really big pieces of paper on which to try my hand at even greater details, but I can probably not scan them for the very same reason as you.

Godspeed to thee, brother from the land down under! (Or is it?)

Errr is it bad? hahah its not meant to be a work of art, its just a journal after all, but it pretty much says MY SCANNER IS TOO SMALL. mmmyep.

I do not think it is bad. It is just the right amount of facts and weird.

Exactly.

My scanner, once a friend, now an enemy, haunts me as i look for its replacement.

(and i think i've found one)

Sounds like a sci fi epic in the making.
