IICK I'm sorry about the stomach flu, I had something like that and threw up for three days solid once i well remember how HORRID it was. My sympathies

How come it's your first halloween. Is it not big in Australia? It only really got big in britain after I grew up, but there were a lot of americans in switzerland so there was a small following for it and I got to go trick or treating..oh once. However I DID go to an adventure maze that was open on halloween night and let you in half price if you dressed up, and have treasure hunts (My birthday is nov 12 and I persuaded my parents I'd rather have a big halloween/birthday party and go to said event and have the treasure hunt, it was so so awesome and it was the longest sleep over of my teen life and... heh I think it was my favourite birthday party ever :D)

So yes in short. I love halloween!Sadly just moved in in london and know of no parties...well not true, plenty of parties but no one to go with, not so fun by yourself and in London not so safe. I've only JUST finished my jack o lantern, it's a kity!

As for the prize HOORAY :D I won second place... Should I Note you what I'd like you to draw or post it as a public comment?

Ooh, wow, now I'm learning a lot... apparently it is more of an Irish/Scottish festival than an English one. I never knew that! I did go to Halloween parties in England, but I guess they must have been a newer thing... :O

Hummm yeah I think it was Celtic originally and jack o lanterns and costumes were used over here butt trick or treating was an american thing originally and they were responsibile for it's large resurgance in popularity even if they didn't invent it.

I see! :D Yeah, there was no resurgence in Scotland, we've been doing guising (Which is like trick-or-treating only you have to perform for your sweets) since before America's trick-or-treating. It's always been a bigger thing up here than it has in England, I think, by the looks of it. :D Though people have started calling "guising" "trick-or-treating" thanks to American influence... :XD:

Which is more annoying if you were doing it first. A bit like them calling football "soccer" over here now, NO it's football, they're weird!

I know, right! Though I was guilty of mixing trick-or-treating/guising up myself as a kid so I can't really get too irritated by it. :XD: I wish people would start using the old terms more, though. Ho hum!
