Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

UGH!!!!
Well. Animation is due tomorrow, or the next day, IM NOT SURE ANYMORE (stupid vague duedate), and I've been sick all weekend with the flu. OH MAN WHERE DID THAT COME FROM! ITS SUMMER (nearly).
Long story short, my animation, which was a 30 second opening for a tv show, had to be scrapped, because i couldnt get it done completely in the short amount of time i had left.
So im doing a less detailed one. One that ive lost faith in already. Im just doing this for a pass. I dont even think you guys would want to see this.
Guess what else is tomorrow? 830am exam. for what? MARKETING. Yes, i knew. No, im not studying, i have an animation to do. I'll study on my 445am train tomorrow.

sorry about the rant. im totally switched off uni mode. so glad its the last week.
