So about 8 months ago I started to notice things getting a little blurry when I was concentrating for too long on activities that require things to be close to my eyes. Like reading and drawing and typing. I thought it was just a symptom of eye strain or something but it slowly got worse, to the point where I was working on a comic page a couple of weeks ago and found I couldn't look at it for more than an hour or so without it getting quite blurry and just generally being frustrating to focus on.
So, I went to the optometrist last weekend and came back with a prescription for a pair of shiny new spectacles that I will get this weekend. Its a pretty neutral experience for me; my family mainly has less than average eyesight and I have been pretty lucky to have good eyes for as long as I have but its still a little "oh well". On the other hand, if I can do strenous eye related activities without the fight for focus I am cool with that!
So what does this mean? WELL. I'd really like to get a webcomic up and running. Always thought about doing that in my spare time but haven't really felt confident enough in my art and really settled on a story until recently. Over the last couple of years I haven't had much time to myself with University and moving countries and fulltime work and the like, but I feel settled enough to at least consider it now.
So! If you're interested, thats what I'm doing. Also! I have Pokemon Black (and White) and damnnnboooyyy its good. I plan on arting my current team sometime soon too.

Long-sighted people aren't as easy to torment as short-sighted people, though, so you're in luck... sort of... XD I totally sympathise with the neutral experience thing, though me getting glasses was only levelled out by the fact that people reassured me that I suited them.
Well, I've had the "Congratulations on retiring! 8D " ... "I'm sorry, Im not retiring." ... "Oh! Im sorry, most retiree's I know have reading glasses too.
You do suit them! You look much older with them on, and less intense. Remember the first impression I had of you? It was a glassesless Cara erm... SMILING? in her msn profile pic. D:
XDDDDDD;
Everyone is starting webcomics I am so happy! \o/
I am assuming yours will be your Eldritch Tea story?
And when do you plan on launching the project? :3
Are you going to post on DA or get a website?
Can I be your comic's first worshiper?
And shower you with fanart when I have the time to draw for people again?
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I hope you adjust to your new spectacles soon, glasses can be quite confusing at first from what I remember.
And what's yer Black/White team? Simply curious. O:
Yes! Eldritch Tea is my story.
Get a website. But draw most followers from dA to start with using word of mouth and comissioning...? We'll see!
FANART WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED IF FANART IS ALLOWED TO BE RETURNED 8D
I got the glasses today and I dont seem to need them for computer work, thats far enough away I think, buutt when I read a book with them on its SO CLEAR.
Emboar, Leavanny, Cofagrigus, Stoutland, Seismitoad and Archeops. :> Yours?
That is amazing and inspiring I tell you; I've been wanting to get started on my own original stories for years now, but never really got around to it for one reason or another. Best luck on the entire endeavor! And know the Ver will be closely
stalkingfollowing the progress.I will pimp you out with all my might!
WE WILL SEE
I had to wear glasses since I was a lot younger and now I have contact lenses, so I don't really remember all that well, sorry. :c
My team is the same for the last entire month because I don't have time for playing on my DS. orz
Emboar, Carracosta, Scrafty, Scolipede, Zebstrika, Cottonee
Possibly replacing Carracosta with Golett/Golurk
